Hello,
I wanted to thank all of you for have commented on my blog, even though the glitch erased some of them and even for taking the time to pay a quick visit !.
A blog was suppose to be chosen for an internet class and did not second guess my topic for fibromyalgia. This project ends May 5th, which is toomorow. I might continue this blog, update it occasionally or stop I am not too sure yet. It all depends by the free time I have in the summer, enjoy the hot the weather the best all of you fibromites can, its one of the best remedies do not forget ;).
This final, or maybe not final post is just a quick re-cap on the last 5 months that I have experienced between fibromyalgia and college. This was my first experience with school and fibro since I left for a year after have being affected by it.
Coming back was not that easy I must admit because I have constant vertigo as well. The first week was the worst, my head would spin and my pain would flare up in such an intense way I just wanted to quit & return my books to the bookstore. Things got slightly better after a week, school was tolerable, the vertigo & constant nausea feeling associated with it was reduced to an ok level. Have you ever realized with fibromyalgia you sort of have to re-adapt to everything, or am I just crazy ?
Another big issue was gym class.... at 8h30 in the morning... That was the worst. Even though my teacher let me work at my pace, I had to at least do the minimum.. Lift some weights & a 5 minute warm up on the stationary bicycle. It was a morning nightmare. Nausea was at it's worst . My vertigo was so bad I always wondered if I fainted on the stationary bike, would I fall to the right to the left or on someone elses rolling wheel ? Lucky me nothing ever happened haha
These issues slowly became adaptable, one main issue that I believe will not leave is the inability to sit down for a long period of time or the famous brain fog. I would study something many times and when I try to remember it would not show up in my memory or I would forget things I had to do. I also have to study much longer & slower to make sure I process it correctly. It is really weird. Sitting down for a long period of times really gave me leg pains, 1-1.5 hours is my limit, I have to absolutely stand up or take a few steps.
But despite these issues, quitting was not an option. I am a week away from finishing and entering university. Support groups like MD Junction has helped me tremendously and so did reading other blogs on fibromyalgia.
Even though you have fibromyalgia you should not quit on something or someone, just keep it at it, you do not know whats on the other side of the road no matter how sure you are.
I am happy to have set up this blog as well, I hope it was somewhat educational. I am just wondering if theres any other young fibromites who go to school or not, having a hard time doing a certain activity, why or why not did you keep going or quit.
I would also deeply like to hear about what other people with fibromyalgia have to say about a past challenge and anything they have overcome with fibromyalgia.
I believe all this could be great inspiration on this blog & for myself.
Thank you,
My heart goes out to all of you & hope for a better toomorow as well ;)
