Treating your Fibro !

Id like to continue the blogspotting on info4fibro since I have the time right now to do so. I do apologize if I have not been on for a while.

Thank you to those who broke the ice to this blog by sharing your experiences of fibromyalgia from a real person's perspective. My heart goes out to all of you,

Id like to further this discussion on this blog with some relief. There are many so called solutions lately. Ever since fibromyalgia has gained awareness & is no longer a fake issue--> books, new pills, special treatments as well as special procedures have been developped to cure us.

Is it true or a rip off ? I would not know I have never tried any of them, they could be both. But, we can all agree we have found ways to reduce our stress have we not ? And this is the purpose of this whole post !
If anyone has actually found a cure or ways to relief the stress of fibromyalgia please share it with us ! This is good for all those who are new to this chronic illness or who simply did not know.

Here are already 7 simple ways to relieve the burdens of fibro

1. Exercise - this is the dreaded word for fibromyalgia sufferers as it takes all the energy they have just to get through each day! But, it has been proven that easy gentle exercises do help with the pain and stiffness associated with fibromyalgia pain.

It is important to start off slowly and build up to a good routine. Start off walking and increase the time until you can do 30 minutes a day. Swimming is excellent as it takes all the weight off your joints and makes it a good all round work out, but again, start off slowly.

2. A good fibromyalgia diet is a low carbohydrate, high protein diet. Many people with fibromyalgia say they have a lessening of symptoms when they eat a healthier low carbohydrate diet. Eliminating sugar from their diet also helps.

3. Heating pads. Nothing feels better than a warm pad on aching joints. Many types are available today, some you just pop in the microwave for instant warmth that soothes away fibromyalgia pain.

4. Topical medications. There are dozens of creams available that help give instant relief for fibro pain. Some are now specially geared to fibromyalgia.

5. Meditation really helps lower stress levels that often trigger fibromyalgia pain. It may not be a cure-all but with soothing relaxing music, and the ability to totally relax, reduced stress does have a beneficial impact on fibro symptoms.

6. Massage stimulates blood flow in aching joints and muscles and the increased blood flow helps reduce fibromyalgia symptoms. This works similar to heating pads but with a deeper relief.

7. Acupuncture. Chinese or Korean acupuncture treats the body as a whole and helps greatly with blood flow. It restores balance to the body as a whole and reduces fibromyalgia symptoms.

  3. I soak in a hot bath, relax with my favorite candle burning, stay warm, use heating pad, streatches, gentle exercises, pool therapy. Those are just a few of the things I do. If my pain is under control I try to avoid stress, and do a good regimin of streatching.
